The final examination is written (written comprehension test).
Through specific exercices, the knowledge and linguistic preparation of the student will be assessed by verifying his / her ability to produce sentences that are complete and syntactically correct in the foreign language.

Voto Finale

The aim of the course is to give students, at the end of the course, the A2 level of the European Reference Framework, which is a basic level that allows the student to apply the acquired knowledge to interact in daily life but also and above all to read and understand a a non-specialist nature text (argumentative text, narrative, etc.). This linguistic knowledge will be verified during the examination. As competences, we want to provide students with techniques and tools for understanding various types of text and allow the acquisition of basic vocabulary related to contemporary French reality.

The topics will be developed progressively and students will assimilate through exercises:
Introduction to the French language, phonetic notions, alphabet (2 hours);
1) present form of verbs «to be » and « to have » and verbs of the first group, subject pronouns, definite and indefinite articles, numbers up to 20. Skills to be acquired: greetings and presentations, express tastes and preferences (8 hours);
2) the feminine form of adjectives, present of verbs of the second group, simple interrogative form and interrogative adjective "Quel", numbers up to 99. Skills to be acquired: ask questions, describe a person (4 hours);
3) the interrogative form with interrogative pronouns, the plural of nouns and adjectives, the indicative present of two-base verbs. Skills to be acquired: ask for/indicate a direction (4 hours)
4) Present indicative of verbs with three bases, the negative form, the pronoun « on », the gender of the names of the countries, the prepositions in front of the names of countries. Skills to be acquired: write a postcard, describe a tourist place, talk about the climate (4 hours);
5) verb "faire", expression of quantity, the affirmative and negative imperative, the partitive articles, the articulated prepositions. Skills to be acquired: expressing quantity, giving advice, (8 hours)
6) particularity of verbs in "er", reflexive verbs in imperative form, demonstrative and possessive adjectives. Skills to be acquired: describing a profession, expressing the purpose, expressing possession, saying the time (4 hours)
7) the "passé récent", the "passé composé", the participle, the pronouns "y" and "en". Skills to be acquired: expressing the frequency of an action, telling a personal experience to the recent past. (4 hours)
8) the past, personal pronouns COD and COI, skills to be acquired: talk about one's memories (2 hours);
9) Arguments: the tonic, principal subordinate pronouns. Skill to be acquired: expressing cause, consequence. (4 hours)
10) future, adverbs and relative pronouns. Skills to be acquired: talking about the future, expressing a hypothesis (4 hours).

Passing the exam involves the study of two books, a manual and a supporting grammar, as well as material distributed and discussed during the course and made available to students on the internet platform.

The course consists on frontal lessons given by the teacher with assisted by new technologies and new teaching methods. The students will also have moments of autonomy or in groups or as a couple, completing the activities specially developed by the teacher to allow them to practice as much as possible their own communication skills (Task-based language learning) so as to put into practice under the supervision of the teacher the skills acquired in each lesson. The activities of the course include viewing documents online and consulting websites.
