The trainings of previous years, in particular those concerning the anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity and the face, will give to the students the background useful to learn the contents of the training.

Final Examination: 

There will be only a final oral exam. The student shall answer to two questions on the topics of this training, in order to verify the expected knowledge and skills.
Eventually, a third question on practical cases will be added

Giudizio Finale

The scope of this training is first of all the knowledge of all specific patology of odontostomatologic surgery focused on dental issues.
In particolar the training will start from diagnosis and classification of all patologies, and will deal also with therapeutic indications. Then, also the oral surgery will be presented in details.
As regard of the major surgery (maxillo-facial) the training will provide basic skills, diagnostic and therapeutic, that in anycase must be known by an odontologist.

At the end of the training the students shall have the following skills:

1) knowledge of oral basic surgery, related complications, prevention and treatment;

2) knowledge of the main odontostomatologic patologies, including diagnosis and treatment;

3) ability to detect and diagnose in advance the main patologies related to maxillofacial surgery (malignant and benign tumors, dento-maxillo-facial dysmorphysms).

- Benign tumors of the jaws

- Potentially malignant oral lesions
- Malignant tumors of the oral cavity
- Oral and maxillo-facial traumatology
- Dento-maxillo-facial dismorphysms
- Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome
- Surgery of the temporo-mandibular joint
- Non neoplastic diseases of the salivary glands
- Principles of maxillo-facial reconstructive surgery
- Cranio-maxillo-facial congenital malformations
