Making Judgements:

During this two years course and in particular in the context of the most specific teachings, students will be asked to face and solve real-world business cases in teamwork and with a personal reflection about different topics from time to time. Students should be able to apply the most appropriate management tools or to interpret complex economic phenomena by using quantitative methods. Students will be also entitled to analyze complex issues, to make critical judgments independently even having limited or incomplete information and finally to develop ethical considerations with consequences on people. The discussion in class of the results obtained by each group and/or single student will be a moment of confrontation and discussion. This is very important for the students and for the teachers who will have an opportunity to assess the capacity and independence of opinion/analysis of the students. Another fundamental point of the student's education is the elaboration and discussion of the final dissertation the student will be called to defend with critical judgment on a selected specific topic and agreed with one of the professors of the master course. The number of credits assigned to the final dissertation indicates the emphasis that is given to the expressive capability and personal independent opinion gained by students during the master course.
The possibility for students to experience a period of internships in companies and in economic organizations along with a living comparison with the companies and economic organizations during the master course will also make an initial assessment of students’ abilities and skills that are required in the working market.

Communication skills:

Students and then graduates of this master course must be able to communicate to interlocutors and expert or less expert consultants their professional profile, ideas, personal approach to the problems related to the business management of complex economic phenomena with a mastery in one or more official languages of the European Union. An outstanding feature of this degree course is indeed the delivery of courses in English. It is important to consider that in a world that is strongly characterized by an increasing globalization in which the existing size of competitive events is progressively based on the dichotomy local-global, the opportunities for students to establish a contact with the industrial asset of the area of Insubria and of other Italian regions and of other countries, represents an important feature of the training course. It’s worth focusing on a better competence of business language English cannot but facilitate the approach in an "international/global" view of those issues as well as the student's entrance into the world of work, where the perfect knowledge of English is more and more a requisite for feature graduates. In order to foster this "opening" to the internationalization process of companies and national economies, students are offered the opportunity to acquire a degree with a double title, thanks to the agreements with the German University of Jena and Hohenheim (and other incoming agreements) and an opportunity of stays abroad (Erasmus and bilateral partnerships) at European University-and extra European Universities with which the University of Insubria has establish/will establish exchange agreements. The presence of foreign students in class will stimulate the use of other languages than Italian, and the acquaintance with different cultural models.

It is also considered important to stimulate the students' communicative skills through an active participation of those lessons in the class and in workshops, seminars and labs scheduled within the structure of the frontal courses. The improvement of communication skills will develop thanks to the participation in work groups or thanks to the draft of individual essays that will be later presented in the class through the use of specific software such as power point and similar. Those communication skills will also be assessed by passing final tests at the end of each course, as well as in the elaboration and defense of the final dissertation.
The possibility of internships in public or private companies or in in house economic organizations will provide students with experience with languages and working contexts during the master cours
e.

Learning skills:

At the end of the master course, students must have acquired those learning skills that allow them to be placed in working contexts in leadership positions or to continue studying independently. While assessing the ability of learning that students have developed in the attendance of all teachings it is important to assess their ability to review and critic in an independent way. This assessment will take place at the end of each course by final tests that will evaluate the level of mastery of understanding shown by the student as for the in progress training material and recommended readings that are necessary to prepare the final examination.
It is strongly believed that the need to deepen the topics covered during the course of undergraduate studies can also go together with the student in his working life. The ability to search for the solution of various issues related to daily business management or interpretation of economic phenomena cannot but arise from the ability to make researches and analyses during the master course and especially thanks to interdisciplinary provided by the course itself.
