Autonomy of judgment is achieved by encouraging the student to use language skills with awareness, flexibility and adaptability both in the perspective of translation and in that of cultural mediation. In addition to lectures on theoretical teaching, autonomy of judgment is achieved through active participation in specialized laboratories that promote decision making skills. Workshops and exercises will also be the occasion to verify the achievement of the various levels of acquisition of critical autonomy.
Graduates will have to demonstrate that they have achieved skills in oral and written communication in the languages of study, with particular reference to the legal, economic and mediation fields. Communication skills are achieved and verified through written and oral exercises, depending on the type of laboratory activated.
Graduates will have to demonstrate an independent learning ability of further knowledge, through the use of specialist bibliographic sources, multilingual terminology databases (IATE), thematic glossaries compiled by EU translators, self-learning computer programs. These additional learning skills can be exploited both in the workplace, in the acquisition of new and updated skills, and in the possible continuation of the studies (eg research doctorate).
Learning skills are achieved and verified by experimenting during the course of the second year with the ability to consult and profitably use the aforementioned self-learning tools.
The subject of the paper will focus on a topic related to one of the two languages or to another of the disciplines included in the curriculum followed, provided that the topic is consistent with the chosen path. The professors of the first and second tier, the teaching researchers and the holders of
replacement contracts for official teaching.
The speaker, where necessary, will be supported by a co-rapporteur, belonging to the same or to a different scientific-disciplinary sector.
