Prof. Damiano Monticelli holds a MSc degree in Chemistry at the University of Milan (1998) and received his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Insubria in Como (Italy, 2003). Since 2004 he is a faculty member at the University of Insubria in Como as a researcher and then associate professor in analytical chemistry since 2017. He spent three periods abroad at the University of Liverpool (2001-2002), at ISAS in Dortmund (2007) and at the University of the Balearic Islands (2013). His main research activity concerns the development of analytical techniques for the determination and speciation of trace metals in environmental matrices: Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry and voltammetric techniques are mainly used. Development of performing, reliable, faster and robust methodologies and hardware for stripping voltammetry is his current research focus. He authored or coauthored 73 publications in the field of analytical chemistry and its environmental applications.
