Biography |
Dr. Rovera was born in
1972 in Varese.
She attended Medical School at the University of Pavia (located in
Varese) and in 1997 attained a final degree with a thesis on the “Correlation
between blood transfusions and postoperative infective complications”
with a final evaluation of 110/110 cum Laude.
In 1997 she started her residency in General Surgery, at the University
of Insubria-Varese, attending the Department of Surgery under the
supervision of Professor Renzo Dionigi.
During these years she participated in several clinical studies involving
risk factors for postoperative infections, breast cancer and lung
cancer screening.
Since 1997, she has actively participated in the lung cancer screening
program in the province of Varese.
She completed her surgical training in General Surgery in 2003 with
a final evaluation of 50/50 cum laude. |

Research interests |
Dr. Rovera is involved in
several clinical research studies regarding breast cancer surgery
and radioimmuno-guided node dissection in breast cancer; risk factors
for postoperative infections and postoperative sepsis. |

Dr. Francesca Rovera has
been appointed as clinical lecturer in Surgery by the University of
Insubria in Varese, where she is currently giving lectures to medical
students, nurses as well as physiotherapists. |

Clinical interests |
Dr. Francesca Rovera is
an active member of the surgical staff of the Department of Surgical Sciences
at the University of Insubria (Head professor Renzo Dionigi). She
is mainly involved in breast cancer surgery as well as several elective
and emergency procedures. She has performed several surgical procedures
as first surgeon and as assistant.
