Biography |
Dr. Rotolo obtained his
medical degree from the University “G. D’Annunzio”
of Chieti School of Medicine, in 1997. In 1999 he earned a certificate
in “ Special diagnostics in thoraco-pulmonary pathology”
at the University “G. D’Annunzio” of Chieti.
In 2003 he completed his fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at the University
“G. D’Annunzio” of Chieti.
In 2005, Dr. Rotolo became a researcher in General Surgery at the
University of Insubria, Varese.
Dr. Rotolo's specific clinical interests include bronchoscopy, laser
endoscopy and positioning of endotracheal protesis, detection and
treatment of small lung nodules, general thoracic surgery, pleural
mesothelioma and video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), respiratory
rehabilitation after thoraco-pulmonary surgery .
Dr. Rotolo has been actively involved in the development of several
research programs. These include: research in “Genetic epidemiology
of lung cancer and smoking” in cooperation with Department of
Occupational Health (University of Milano) and National Cancer Institute
of Bethesda (USA); lung cancer screening program in the Province of
Varese, Italy, named progetto PRE.DI.CA.
He is currently a an Assistant Professor in General Surgery at the School of Medicine at the University of Insubria in Varese where he has academic
teaching courses in two graduate schools (Thoracic Surgery and Pneumology). |
