Biography

Born in Pavia on August 12, 1967, currently living in Pavia, via Lotario n. 8, cap. 27100.

1991: graduate in law (University of Pavia) with 110/110 and honors, with a dissertation in Roman law on: [‘Problems of authenticity, the «Res Cottidianae» of Gaius’, I-II] ‘Problemi di autenticità: le «Res Cottidianae» of Gaius’, I-II (chairman, Prof. Ferdinando Bona).

1993: Lecturer and Assistant Professor in Roman Law (University of Pavia, University of Parma, Catholic University of Milano and Piacenza)

1997: Ph. D. in Late Roman Empire Law at University of Pavia with a dissertation on: [‘The legislative relations between the two partes Imperii’] ‘Sui rapporti legislative tra le due partes Imperii’.

1999: Researcher in roman law at the School of Law at the University of Insubria, Como

2000: Professor of Juridical Epigraphy at the School of Law at the University of Insubria, Como

Research interests

The research has been developed around the following main goals:
the legislative relations between the Eastern and the Western Late Roman Empire – the juridical significance of unilateral promise in roman law – the juridical significance of welfare institutions in roman law – the history of Como and Varese through the epigraphic documentation
