Qualifications and awards

 Laurea (Masters) in Physics Milan University 1968. Visiting scientist MIT (USA) 1970-72. Associate Professor Milan University 1972-1990. Full professor SISSA (Trieste) 1990-1996. Full Professor in the School of Sciences in Como since 1996
 

Research interests

 Neutron stars, accretion theory, pulsars, X-ray binaries, active galactic nuclei. Observations with space and ground based telescopes
 

Teaching experience and appointments

 Courses of Physics and Astrophysics. Coordinator of the Physics curriculum (1997-2000) . Member of the Valuation Comm. of the University of Insubria (1999-2005). Coordinator of national grants on the astrophysics of compact objects .
