Clinical outcome studies
in knee and ankle surgery, with particular interest in cartilage,
meniscus and ligament repair for both traumatic and degenerative desease.
Prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis.
Application of tissue engineering techniques for the treatment of
joint diseases.
Biochemical changes and gene expression in the tendon tissue and blood
during tendon diseases.
Biomechanical changes after meniscectomy.
Treatment of femoral head osteoneocrosis with a porous tantalum biomaterial. |

Clinical interests |
Clinical practice consists
of general orthopedic and trauma care as well as a special interest
in knee and ankle.
Reconstructive surgery of the knee including the management of arthritis,
meniscal tears, ligaments reconstruction, cartilage repair and failed
knee surgery.
Operative fixation of fractures of the upper and lower extremity:
common surgical procedures include standard open reduction and internal
osteosynthesis techniques, minimally invasive stabilization methods,
joint replacement for periarticular fractures.
