Clinical interests

Clinical practice consists of general orthopedic care, but is mainly focused on surgery of the hand and upper extremity.

Trauma cases include injuries of the upper extremity. Operative treatment of fractures consists of open reduction and internal fixation or minimally invasive procedures with use of percutaneous fixation and eventually external fixation. A special interest is devoted to reconstructive surgery after osteo-ligamentous injuries of the wrist, which may require arthroscopic assistance. Complex injuries of the hand, affecting bone as well as skin and soft tissues are treated with a comprehensive approach including microsurgical reconstruction of vessels and nerves.

Other operative procedures include reconstruction of the arthritic hand and wrist, tendon transfers in definitive palsies of the nerves of the upper limb, treatment of entrapment neuropathies, release of contractures and treatment of bone and soft tissue neoplasms.
