Biography

 Giuseppe Armocida (born 1946) attended medical University Courses in Pavia where he graduated in 1974 (Thesis on the History of Medicine).

Specialist in Psychiatry (1979), Legal Medicine (1982) and Psychotherapy (1984).

He worked as a psychiatrist in Varese.

Since 1985 he has been University Professor of History of Medicine (Universities of Ancona, Bari, Pavia and Varese).
 

Qualifications and awards

 Medical doctor; Specialist in Psychiatry, Legal Medicine Psychotherapy; Full Chair Professor of History of Medicine.

He is member of the Editorial Board of Advisors of several scientific Journals of History and History of Medicine

Research interests

 His main scientific interests are related to History, History of Medicine, Forensic Psychiatry
 

Teaching experience and appointments

 Giuseppe Armocida teaches History of Medicine, Philosophy of Medicine, Medical Humanities, Forensic Psychiatry, Public Health in Courses for medical students, physicians, nurses and other health professionals, both in the undergraduate and graduate level. He is also Professor in several medical postgraduate schools including Forensic Medicine, Psychology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia and Rehabilitation. He is a member of the Scientific Teaching Committee, and Professor in the International Masters Programs in Medical Humanities, and Forensic Criminology, in Varese and other Italian cities.

Full Professor of History of Medicine.
Since 2000 he has been the Director of the Department of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Insubria

He has published more than 300 articles on the following subjects: history, history of medicine, psychiatry, forensic medicine and bioethics.
