The Department of Economics is carrying out important research regarding Italian firms that have expanded their businesses in Eastern European countries. The main purpose of this research is to identify the key drivers for the internationalization of Italian companies.
The research aims to investigate the features of the Italian subsidiaries in PECO countries and the internationalization strategies adopted by their Italian headquarters. To carry out this investigation the University of Insubria has created a research network with leading Eastern Universities such as the Universities of Poznan, Budapest, Prague, Timisoara and Maribor.
This research has received the support of the European Commission (Directorate General for Education and Culture – Grant agreement 249/001).
Professor Alberto Onetti is responsible for the project and leads the research network.
The output of the research will be published in 2006 and be presented during an international workshop in Varese.
