	Biography	Marcella Reguzzoni was born on December, 27, 1965 in Busto Arsizio (VA), Italy. In 1989 she graduated “cum laude” in Biology at the University of Milan with an experimental thesis on the immunoistological study in thyroid carcinoma. She did her post degree training in the Histology and Embriology Institute of University of Pavia. In 1991 she passed the qualification exam for the biological profession. From 1991 to 1999 she was technical manager at the same institute. From 1996 she was appointed expert of Histolgy and took part of the teaching activities in the morphologic area. In 1999 she won the competitive examination as Research Fellow in Histology at the School of Medicine in the University of Insubria and she joined the Biological and Clinical Science Department. In 2002 she has taken a post-graduate diploma on Medical Genetic at the University of Insubria. Since their institution in 2003 she joined the Human Morphology Department of the University of Insubria.

	Research interests	Research interests focus essentially on the ultrastructure of the macromolecules of the extracellular matrix (collagen, elastin, glycoconjugates, mineral phase), their supramolecular assembly and their functional aspects, with techniques of light microscopy, transmission- and scanning electron microscopy, X-ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and image processing, and corrosion-casting techniques.
	Teaching experience and appointments	- She teaches the Histology course in the School of Medicine at the University of Insubria. - She teaches the Integrate Anatomy and Histology course in the Medical triennial graduate courses (Nursing, Obstetrics, Physiotherapists, Dental Hygienists, Radiological and Laboratory Technicians) of the University of Insubria.
