	Biography	Born in Biella in 1948. Graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Pavia (1972). Resident in the Radiological Department (Chief: Prof. Gianfranco Pistolesi) of the University Hospital of Verona (1972-1976). He began his academic career as an assistant professor in Radiology at the Department of Radiology of the Medical School of Verona in 1978, progressing to associate professor in Radiological Anatomy in 1983 and to full professor in Dentomaxillofacial Radiology in 1987. In 1994 he was named full professor of Radiology by the School of Medicine of the University of Insubria and in 1996 assumed the chairmanship of the Department of Radiology at the University Hospital of Varese.
	Qualifications and awards	Winner of the “P. Perona” scholarship assigned by the University of Padova in 1976; he obtained the Diploma of clinical ultrasonography from the European Association of Radiology in 1993. Member of the Italian Society of Medical Radiology (SIRM), of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society (CIRSE), of the European Congress of Radiology (ECR). Secretary of the SIRM Presidency (1980-1984). Vice-president of the SIRM Section of Ultrasonography (1988-1992).
	Research interests	Main research interests: Vascular and Interventional Radiology; Radiology of the endocrine glands; Hepato-biliary and Pancreatic Radiology.
	Teaching experience and appointments	Full Professor of Radiology in School of Medicine (1994). Chief of the post-graduate School of Diagnostic Radiology (1997). President of the School for Radiographers (2000). Teacher of Radiology at the School of Medicine (5th year); teacher of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at many post-graduate schools (enclosed the school of Diagnostic Radiology); teacher of “Diagnostic Imaging: Level Two” at the School for Radiographers.
