Biography

Born in Eboli (SA) in 1966. Graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Pavia (1991). Resident in the Radiological Department (Chief: Prof. Lucio Di Guglielmo) of the University Hospital of Pavia (1991-1995). Degree in Specialization in Sanitary Statistic (Socio–sanitary Planning) at the University of Pavia in 1999. He worked at the department of Radiology ‘Cà Granda’ in Milan (1996-2002). He began his academic career as a Research fellow in Radiology at the Department of Radiology of the Medical School of Varese in 2001.
 

Qualifications and awards

Degree in Internal Ultrasound (C.A.E.I.) in 1991. Member of the Italian Society of Medical Radiology (SIRM). Secretary of the Committee of the journal “La Radiologia Medica”.(1992-1995). Responsible for Quality Control for the Interventional Radiology of the hospital Niguarda Cà Granda, Milano, achieving the certification of quality ISO 9002 (2000).
 

Research interests

Main research interests: ecocolor–doppler with particular regards to the postoperative period of patients with liver, kidney, and pancreatic transplantations. Opportunistic pulmonary infections in the immuno-deficient and onco-haematologic patients. Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Percutaneous procedures both on the biliary and urinary tracts. Radiofrequency Termoablation (liver, bone, kidney, lung and parathyroid glands). Radioprotection and ionising radiation

Teacher of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at post-graduate school of Diagnostic Radiology; teacher of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at the School for Radiographers. Teacher of Diagnostic Imaging at the school of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology.
