Biography

Born in 1975, Camilla Ferrari took the diploma of "maturità classica" with full marks in 1994 and then attended the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavia (Italy).
She graduated in 1999, discussing an essay on the current reforms in contract law of United Kingdom and USA.
In 1999 she also spent ten months as visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Philadelphia (USA), under the supervision of Geoffrey Hazard, Chief of the American Bar Association and of the American Institute of Civil Procedure.
In 2000 Camilla Ferrari begun a PhD course in Civil Law at the University of Torino (Italy), completed in 2004 with a dissertation concerning the so called criterio di compatibilità ("compatibility rule") in the contract law.
On November 2005, she won as a candidate for the quality of university researcher, group IUS/01 - Private Law, by the Insubria University of Varese (Italy), School of Economics, and took service on December 2005.

Research interests

Main research interests deal with "contractual type" and the so called "business to consumer" contracts. In particular, Camilla Ferrari investigates the relationship between, on one hand, terms and categories used by EU legislation and, on the other hand, those that own to the Italian judicial culture and tradition.

Besides the so called "jus se poenitendi", she is studying the various kinds of sale having an European origin, as well as sales of consumer goods, sales negotiated away from business premises and distance sales, in order to coordinate them with the rules of the Italian Civil Code.
