Biography |
Born in 1953.
Graduated
in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pavia in 1979, Specialist
in Stomatology in 1982, Degree in Orthodontics in 1998. From 1982
to 1987, Medical Assistant in Stomatology at the Hospital of Circolo,
Varese. In 1995-96 he was Contract Professor of “Orthodontics
and Biomechanics” at the Postgraduate School in Orthodontics,
Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pavia. In 1996-98 he is Contract
Professor of “Oral Patology” in the course of Stomatologic
Diseases, University of Pavia. In 1998–2001 he was Contract
Professor for the course of “Oral Patology”, University
of Insubria. Associate Professor of Malattie Odontostomatologiche (F13B) in 2000. From the same date, he is Member of the Department of Clinical and Biological Sciences. In 2002 he became Full Professor of MED/28, School of Medicine at the University of Insubria. Teaches “Dental Materials” , “Stomatologic Diseases and Oral Hygiene”, “Odontoiatria Conservativa I and II” and “Ortodonzia II and III” in the Postgraduate School of Orthodontics at the University of Insubria. His scientific activity is documented by 108 papers dealing with 0rthodontics, Biomechanics, and the Lingual Orthodontics technique. He held several courses of Orthodontics in Italian and International Universities. |

Research interests |
Professor Macchi has scientific interests in the Orthodontics field, and in particular in Lingual Orthodontics, with studies on the equipment, the systems of application and Orthodontic biomechanics. He is also interested in biomaterial for bone substitution and implanto-prostethic solution. He studies three-dimensional reconstructions of tc. scanner and use of software cad cam for the planning and the construction of all surgical and prosthetic equipment of dental interest. |
