Biography

Born in 1941, he attained his degree in Chemistry at the University of Milan in 1966. After a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the same University, he worked for some years as Research Assistant at the Italian National Research Council. In 1983, he was appointed Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Milan. At the present, he is Full Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Insubria.

Member of the Società Chimica Italiana.

Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Professional qualification as Chemist.

Member of the “Peer Reviewers List” of the Italian Department of Education and Research.

Co-author of more than 150 scientific publications.

Co-author of a two-volume textbook entitled “Chimica degli eterocicli”
 

Research interests

The research activity has been mainly directed to the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds of potential interest in the pharmaceutical field.

More recent research interests are: synthesis of novel colorants, macromolecular chemistry, structural modifications of textile fibers.

Teaching experience and appointments In the past, for several years, teacher of courses of both theory and practice in Organic Chemistry.

At the present, teacher of the courses of Advanced Organic Chemistry, Industrial Organic Chemistry, Chemistry and Technology of Polymers.
