The Research Center for Neurosciences at the University of Insubria has been recently established at the "Molini Marzoli" site in Busto Arsizio. More than 20 scientists from the School of Medicine and School of Sciences at the University of Insubria take part in the activities of the Center.
The aims of the Center for Neurosciences are:
To promote research in the Neuroscience field, favoring interdisciplinary approaches, collaborations and exchange of information between various structures of the University of Insubria, and with other research Institutions or industrial laboratories.
To constitute a research nucleus representing a local reference point and able to take part in European networks in the field of Neuroscience.
To play a role in the dissemination and diffusion of knowledge on Neuroscience themes.
The more recent activities sponsored by the Center include a series of popular appointments intended for a general public, as well as periodic series of seminars on selected topics in neurobiology. The Center actively contributed to the organization of two national events on “Frontiers of proteomics” (in 2004 and 2005), and of the "second European workshop on cannabinoids" (in 2005). Since 2004, members to the Research Center meet at the end of the year during the annual neuroscience research workshop. During the last two years, approximately 30 papers have been published with an affiliation to the Research Center for Neurosciences at the University of Insubria.
