Biography

Born on 17 October 1958

1982 degree in Biological Sciences - Università degli Studi di Milano.

1986-1987 collaboration with the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology at the Emory University of Atlanta (USA).

1990 visiting professor at Animal Physiology, AFRC of Cambridge (UK).

1991-1996 head of the research of a Biotech Company ( Biosensori S.p.A., IRI group).

1991-1992 visiting professor at Biotechnology Center of Cranfield (UK).

2001 supervisor professor for the PhD courses at University of New South Wales of Sidney (Australia).

2001-2003 member of the European team of EC-network “Cyanobacteria Toxins Water Quality and Health”.

 

Research interests

Drug discovery using microorganisms living in extreme environments.

Biological effects of the emerging pollutants like pharmaceutical residues in the environment.
