The laboratory carries out flask- and bioreactor-scale fermentation activities of microorganisms of industrial interest (such as actinomycetes and filamentous fungi), aimed at the production of secondary metabolites (antibiotics) and recombinant peptides/proteins.

Equipment

  • 2 laminar flow cabinets for bacteriology (Jouan, Steril)
  • 3 × 3 L fermenters with ADI1030 Biocontroller (Applikon)
  • 3 thermostatic shakers (Infors HT, Steroglass)
  • Thermostatic incubator (MPM Instruments)
  • Hitachi Chromaster HPLC with Diode Array Detector (VWR)
  • ÄKTA Start FPLC system (GE Healthcare)
  • Optical microscope (Zeiss)
  • Stereomicroscope (Bel Photonics)

Access conditions and opening hours

Access is granted to:

  • members of the Microbial Biotechnology Group
  • authorised students (DBSV thesis students, international mobility students, PhD candidates)

during the opening hours of the building at Via Dunant 3. 
Access for other DBSV staff is permitted upon request.
