New Censis ranking: Insubria shines in Italy for employability and internationalisation, with Dentistry and Law at the top.

The University of Insubria once again stands out in the newly published Censis ranking, achieving excellent results in several strategic areas. The most prestigious recognition comes from the single-cycle master’s degree programme in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, which scores 97.5 points and ranks fourth overall at national level, as well as first in Lombardy. An excellent performance is also recorded by Law (96.5), which ranks sixth in Italy and second in Lombardy. These results confirm the high quality of teaching at the University and its ability to train highly qualified professionals.

But that is not all: Insubria also confirms itself as one of the best universities in Italy in terms of graduate employability, with an outstanding score of 104, placing it second nationally among medium-sized universities and first in Lombardy jointly with Brescia. This figure highlights the strong alignment between the educational pathways offered and the needs of the labour market, demonstrating the effectiveness of the teaching approach and the focus on professional skills.

Another flagship area is the level of internationalisation, with a score of 85: fourth place in Italy and first in Lombardy jointly with Bergamo. The University continues to invest in international relations, academic networks, mobility programmes and strategic partnerships, making the university experience increasingly open to the world.

Communication and digital services represent a further strength, with a score of 92, corresponding to seventh place nationally and third at regional level. This confirms the University’s commitment to innovation and digital accessibility for students and staff.

Overall, Insubria ranks prominently among medium-sized public universities – those with between 10,000 and 20,000 enrolled students – achieving eleventh place nationally with an overall score of 83.8, gaining two positions compared with the previous year.

Among the other indicators considered, 80 points for student services stand out, corresponding to sixth place in Italy and second in Lombardy, a result that rewards support policies and attention to student wellbeing. Lower scores were recorded for scholarships (66 points) and facilities (76 points), two areas in which the University continues to invest in order to ensure greater equity and quality in the university experience.

The 2025–2026 Censis ranking also analyses educational provision by disciplinary area and level of study, confirming the overall strong performance of Insubria.

Among bachelor’s degrees, Insubria performs very well in the sport and exercise sciences group, with the Degree Programme in Sport and Exercise Sciences scoring 99 points and ranking fourth in Italy and second in Lombardy; in the medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical group, the Healthcare Professions programmes, with 94 points, rank seventh in Italy and first in Lombardy jointly with Brescia and Milan Bicocca; in the language area, Interlinguistic and Intercultural Mediation scores 91 points, ranking eighth in Italy and first in Lombardy. Noteworthy results are also recorded in the political-social sciences and communication group, with Communication Sciences (89.5 points, twelfth in Italy and fourth in Lombardy); in computer science and ICT technologies, with the Computer Science degree programme (83.5 points, thirteenth in Italy and second in Lombardy); in the humanities group, including History and Histories of the Contemporary World (81.5 points, sixteenth in Italy and second in Lombardy); and in the scientific group, with Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, and Environmental and Natural Sciences (81 points, sixteenth in Italy and fourth in Lombardy).

For two-year master’s degrees, the most significant results come from the economics disciplinary group with a score of 90 (fourteenth nationally and fifth in Lombardy), followed by the scientific group (score 84, eleventh in Italy and fourth in Lombardy) and computer science and ICT technologies (75 points, twentieth in Italy and third in Lombardy).

As regards single-cycle master’s degrees, in addition to the already mentioned excellent results in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics (97.5 points, fourth in Italy and first in Lombardy) and in Law (96.5 points, sixth in Italy and second in Lombardy), Medicine and Surgery also stands out (81.5 points, seventeenth in Italy and fifth in Lombardy).

The results of the 2025–2026 Censis ranking confirm the increasingly important role of the University of Insubria within the Italian academic landscape, with peaks of excellence in key sectors and solid growth across all fundamental indicators. A university looking to the future, focusing on quality, innovation, international openness and tangible attention to students’ educational pathways.
