Graduates of the University of Insubria are increasingly well prepared, employed and satisfied: this is confirmed by the 27th Almalaurea Report on the Profile and Employment Conditions of Graduates, presented today in Brescia. The survey provides a snapshot of the academic and employment performance of more than three hundred thousand Italian graduates: the University of Varese and Como stands out positively compared with both the national and the Lombardy averages.
Among bachelor’s graduates from Insubria who decided to enter the labour market immediately, the employment rate one year after graduation is 83.9%, higher than both the regional (82.5%) and national (78.6%) figures. The average monthly net salary is €1,552, while 61.8% consider the qualification obtained to be effective or very effective for the job performed, compared with 56.9% at regional level.
Results are even more marked among master’s graduates: one year after graduation, 87.9% of Insubria graduates are in employment (88.7% among two-year master’s graduates), well above the regional (82.7%) and national (78.6%) averages. Salaries are also higher (€1,600 compared with €1,543), and the perceived effectiveness of the degree increases (78% compared with 67.5% regionally). Five years after graduation, the University’s master’s graduates achieve an employment rate of 95.5% and an average salary of €2,108, both higher than the Lombardy figures.
The student profile confirms a strong territorial identity (only 5.7% come from outside the region) and a significant proportion of working students (70.5%), with a greater presence in first-cycle degree programmes. 11.1% took part in an Erasmus programme, a figure that is increasing and above the regional average, while 57.3% of students benefited from a curricular internship experience. Timely completion of studies is also good (61.9%), as is the average age at graduation, which remains stable (25.1 years), and the average final mark, equal to 102/110, rising to 108.3 for two-year master’s graduates, a figure that is higher than the reference averages.
Assessments of the university experience are very positive: 90% of students rate their experience at Insubria positively, 89.2% are satisfied with their relationship with academic staff, and 85.9% consider the study workload to be appropriate.
