The Rector, in order to exercise their functions, having consulted with the Deputy Rector, may appoint one or more delegates, chosen among the tenured professors and researchers of the University, without imposing any additional burdens on the University budget.
(Art. no. 14, paragraph 2 of the Charter)
For the 2018-2024 period, the Rector has appointed the following delegates:
- Professor Jutta Maria Birkhoff – with Rectoral Decree no. 886 of 5 November 2018 – Delegate for the Coordination, Monitoring and Support of the initiatives for the integration of people with disabilities within the University;
The delegate will work in synergy with the actions promoted by the Delegate for Hospitality to students, PhD students and researchers, Professor Andrea Moriondo; - Professor Mauro Fasano – with Rectoral Decree no. 156 of 6 March 2019 – Delegate for Innovation and Technological Transfer
Mandate: the promotion and consolidation of University initiatives for the promotion of research results, skills and knowledge, as well as general technological transfer processes (such as patents, start ups, spin-offs and industrial partnerships); - Professor Mauro Ferrari – with Rectoral Decree no. 886 of 5 November 2018 – Delegate for Teaching and Innovation
Mandate: general coordination of the University’s educational-training activities, in order to promote the University’s skills and the dissemination of the Culture of Quality in planning and developing educational programs. The encouragement of innovative and interdisciplinary educational-training initiatives and the promotion of teaching innovation processes also fall within the scope of the mandate; - Professor Elena Maggi – with Rectoral Decree no. 380 of 5 June 2019 - Delegate for Sustainable Development
Mandate:- promoting sustainable development actions on the part of the University, also in collaboration with other companies, public institutions and associations and with the RUS group – the University network for sustainable development;
- manage relations with the Observatory of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), in order to foster communication and cooperation among Universities and companies;
- manage relations with the Smart Cities & Communities Lombardia Cluster Foundation
- Professor Elena Maggi – with Rectoral Decree no. 380 of 5 June 2019 – Delegate as University Mobility manager
Mandate: promoting practices of sustainable mobility for home-university commutes, in order to improve the accessibility of university buildings, thus increasing their attractiveness. - Professor Flavia Marinelli – with Rectoral Decree no. 144 of 26 February 2021 – Delegate for Research
Mandate: presiding and coordinating the University Research Committee; managing relations with national and international scientific institutions, the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI); - Professor Andrea Moriondo – with Rectoral Decree no. 16 of 14 January 2019 – Delegate for Hospitality to students, PhD students and researchers
Mandate: coordinating and strengthening hospitality activities for students, PhD students and researchers, including activities linked to right to study and relations with local institutions for the stipulation of service agreements; - Professor Maria Pierro – with Rectoral Decree no. 42 of 20 January 2021 – Delegate for labor union relations and integrative collective bargaining for the technical-administrative personnel of the University of Insubria
- Professor Michela Prest – with Rectoral Decree no. 886 of 5 November 2018 – Delegate for Communication, Orientation and Fundraising
Mandate: organizing and coordinating incoming, ongoing and outgoing orientation initiatives, in order to facilitate informed choices on the part of students and strengthen relations with schools, with a view to continuing education, and with stakeholders, with the prospect of accessing the labor market. The organization and coordination of the whole communication structure (paper, web, public engagement) also falls within the scope of the mandate, in order to provide a coordinated image of the University and facilitate fundraising activities for specific projects and campaigns; - Professor Cristiana Schena – with Rectoral Decree no. 143 of 26 February 2021 – Delegate for the University’s Strategic Planning
Mandate: the mandate’s operational activities include the implementation, monitoring, update and promotion of the University’s strategic plan, in strict adherence to the orientation of the electoral program, by coordinating departmental activities and following the activities at the University level, including the interdepartmental plan on Data Science - Professor Andrea Spiriti – with Rectoral Decree no. 886 of 5 November 2018 – Delegate for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage
Mandate: coordinating and promoting cultural, architectural, museum, archive and other initiatives, also maintaining relationships with the relevant authorities, paying particular attention to the contemporary world and relations with the territory; - Professor Luigi Valdatta – with Rectoral Decree no. 418 of 17 June 2020 - Delegate for Institutional Relations for the Busto Arsizio building
- Professor Giorgio Maria Zamperetti – with Rectoral Decree no. 927 of 19 November 2018 – Delegate for “Internationalization”
Mandate: in addition to the tasks already assigned in art. no. 2, paragraph 2 of the University’s Regulations on international mobility for students and professors:- representing the Rector, when they cannot participate, in international meetings and events with foreign delegations visiting the University;
- promoting initiatives that aim to develop the international standing of the University and its network of foreign relations;
- coordinating the delegates for internationalization of the individual Departments, thus guaranteeing an harmonious and ordered development of internationalization initiatives;
- supervising, also through guidelines, the organization and development of educational activities and study abroad experiences;
- contributing, in cooperation with the Rector’s delegate for Communication, Orientation and Fundraising, to the promotion of the University’s internationalization activities through social media and the media in general;
- monitoring the implementation of calls which include international activities, also by participating, if deemed appropriate, in selection and evaluation committees.
