Contenuto servizio

For the evaluation of training proposals for new agreements, please contact the Internship Committee, composed of: Prof. Laura Facchin and Prof. Daniel Russo. For matters relating to the AlmaLaurea platform, please contact the DiSUIT Internship Office.

The Department of Human Sciences and Innovation for the Territory promotes the undertaking of curricular internships, offering students the opportunity to carry out practical activities, including outside the University, in particular with private companies and public bodies.

The study programmes in Communication Sciences, Sciences and Techniques of Communication, and Languages and Skills for Education provide for two options:

  • EXTERNAL CURRICULAR INTERNSHIPS – activities carried out at companies/host organisations external to the University
  • INTERNAL CURRICULAR INTERNSHIPS – activities carried out at University laboratories/offices or an experimental thesis

Further information is available in the sections below.

External Curricular Internships

If your internship will take place in a region other than Lombardy, please contact the DiSUIT Internship Office

  • SCOM: at least 100 ECTS credits
  • STEC: none. You must submit an internship proposal, which will be assessed by the Internship Committee lecturers
  • LINCOFORM: at least 60 ECTS credits

REGISTER ON THE ALMALAUREA PORTAL

Log in to the Student Registry Web Services and select Internships and Placements

BROWSE THE OPPORTUNITIES

  • Review the internship opportunities available on the portal and apply, using your @studenti.uninsubria.it email address as your contact reference

Do the internship offers not match your interests or can you not find a suitable profile?

  • identify an organisation or company already affiliated with the University and propose your project

OR

  • submit your project to an organisation or company of interest that is not yet affiliated and ask whether they are willing to activate an agreement, following the activation procedure, which includes the following steps:

a) Signing the agreement with the University

The procedure involves registration and the submission of the Agreement. Once the Agreement has been approved, with the status “Approved but not active”, the host organisation proceeds with the submission of the training project in the name of the intern.
At the end of the procedure, both documents (Agreement and Training Project) must be printed and signed. The original Agreement must be sent or delivered by hand to the DiSUIT Internship Office at Via O. Rossi, 9, Padiglione Antonini – 21100 Varese, and a copy must be sent in advance by email to stage.disuit@uninsubria.it, indicating “Agreement ID _____” in the subject line.
The document will then be signed by the legal representative, registered, and will move to the status “Active Agreement”. The Agreement signed by the company will be valid for 5 years and will allow the activation of a number of curricular and extracurricular (post-degree) internships.

b) Drafting of the training project

The co-signed Training Project (by the company tutor and the intern) must be uploaded in PDF format to the Placement Platform in the Training Project Document Management section, following a notification email to stage.disuit@uninsubria.it, or sent directly by email to stage.disuit@uninsubria.it
The internship may begin only after the completion of the procedure, when its status is “Active” (green indicator).

Your internship project must be approved by the Internship Committee: please send it to stage.disuit@uninsubria.it

During the internship period you will be required to:

  • complete the attendance register downloadable from your AlmaLaurea page (section: manage your internships, training project details)
  • contact your academic tutor halfway through the internship period to inform them about the progress of the activities you are carrying out

If necessary, the host organisation/company may request to:

  • extend the internship beyond the end date specified in the training project, subject to authorisation by the Internship Committee, which will assess each case individually based on actual needs, taking into account the completion of the number of hours required by the study plan
  • temporarily suspend the internship activity for any reason
  • terminate the internship early (e.g. upon completion of the required number of hours)

The request must be submitted via the online system (no later than 15 days before the scheduled end date), by accessing the internship “details” section and notifying by email: stage.disuit@uninsubria.it

At the end of the internship period you will be required to:

  • have the Attendance Register signed by the company tutor, downloadable from your AlmaLaurea page (section: manage your internships, training project details)
  • ask the company tutor to complete the Joint Internship Report, downloadable from your AlmaLaurea page (section: manage your internships, training project details), and have it also signed by the academic–organisational tutor
  • complete the online evaluation questionnaire for the internship activity by selecting the appropriate link in the automatic email received from the Placement portal on the last day of the internship, and check that the host organisation/company does the same (there is no need to print the questionnaires)
  • send by email the two PDF files of the joint report and the attendance register, duly signed, within 5 days of the internship registration date
  • register for the Internship Registration exam session by accessing the Student Registry Web Services, so that the relevant credits can be recorded in your university transcript. It is important to pay attention to exam session dates, especially close to graduation sessions. As with all exam sessions, registrations close 5 days before the scheduled date. Note: the registration will take place in the days following the exam session date.

For students enrolled up to academic year 2018–19

  • if the internship also covers additional skills – 200-hour internship – it is necessary to register for the corresponding Additional Activities (UA) exam session as well

For students enrolled from academic year 2019–20 onwards

  • the internship must be carried out for 150 hours (6 ECTS credits)
  • to obtain credits for Additional Training Skills, it will no longer be possible to extend the duration of the internship; instead, you will need to attend the laboratories and seminars organised by the degree programme
Internal Curricular Internships or Experimental Thesis

To activate an internal internship:

  • complete the activation form together with the university tutor, clearly describing the proposed educational objective (experimental thesis)
  • send the form to stage.disuit@uninsubria.it; if necessary, you will be issued authorisation to carry out activities outside university facilities

If the internship takes place exclusively within the University:

  • you will not be required to complete the attendance register

If you are required to attend facilities outside the University:

  • complete the attendance register

At the end of the internship period you will be required to:

  • complete, together with the university tutor, the final report on the internship activity carried out and the attendance register (only in the case of itinerant activities previously authorised at external facilities)
  • send the Final Report and any attendance register to the DiSUIT Internship Office at stage.disuit@uninsubria.it at least 5 days before the internship registration date
  • register for the Internship Registration exam session by accessing the Student Registry Web Services: the completion of the internship will be officially recorded and the relevant credits will be added to your university transcript. It is important to pay attention to exam session dates, especially close to graduation sessions. As with all exam sessions, registrations close 5 days before the scheduled date.

For students enrolled up to academic year 2018–19

  • if the internship also covers additional skills – 200-hour internship – it is necessary to register for the corresponding Additional Activities (UA) exam session as well

For students enrolled from academic year 2019–20 onwards

  • the internship must be carried out for 150 hours (experimental thesis and/or any activities to be agreed with the tutor)
  • it will no longer be possible to obtain credits for Additional Training Activities through the internship; instead, you will need to attend the laboratories and seminars organised by the degree programme
Please note
  • Exam session registration takes place after the submission of the documents by email to stage.disuit@uninsubria.it. The student’s presence is not required.
  • The internship registration must take place at the first available exam session and in any case by the deadline for closing the student record (25 days before the graduation session).
