Ex-libris competition: The winners
For the tenth anniversary of foundation, the University of Insubria announced an international ex-libris competition about "De libera Universitate" (University and freedom) in collaboration with A.I.E. (Italian Ex libris Association).

Luigi Casalino, coming from Novara – Italy, won the first place, Giancarlo Pozzi, from Castellanza (VA) - Italy, won the second place and Vladimir Zuev, from Nizhny Tagil, Russia, won the third one.

Magistri Commacini: Myth and reality in Lombard Middle Ages
University of Insubria will host the XIX International Congress of the Center for Medieval Studies CISAM (Centro Italiano di Studi sull'Alto Medioevo) of Spoleto. The topic is: "Magistri Commacini: Myth and reality in Lombard Middle Ages".
It is organised by the International Research Center for Local Histories and Cultural Diversities of the University. Most distinguished medievalists will actively participate.

The venue of the first day is in Como at Sant’Abbondio Cloister since 10 a.m., whereas on the next two days it will be in Varese, at Toeplitz Villa, since 9 a.m.

Opening of the Insubria Concert Season 2008-09
Swiss Italian Conservatory (CSI) Orchestra will open the VIII Insubria Concert Season, playing music by C. M. von Weber and J. Brahms.
The concert will be held in Varese, University Great Hall, via Ravasi 2 and begin at 11:30.

1998-2008: University of Insubria 10th anniversary
The ceremony will be held on July 14th, 2008 in Varese (Aula Magna, Via Ravasi 2) and will begin at 16:00.
In this occasion an Honoris Causa Degree in Business and Economics will be bestowed on Alfredo Ambrosetti.
Celebrations will continue on July 15th, 2008 in Como (Sant’Abbondio Cloister, via Sant'Abbondio 9) and will also begin at 16:00.
In this occasion an Honoris Causa Degree in International Law will be bestowed on Cornelio Sommaruga.
