Established in 1997, the Residency Program in Plastic Surgery was developed in collaboration with the School of Medicine and Hospital of Varese, where it had been taught since 1989 and began clinical activity in 1996.
Admission: 1 student per academic year
The Program is comprised of clinical activity (operating room), theoretical and classroom activity and research activity:

Benign cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions
Malignant cutaneous and subcutaneous neoplasias
Primary and secondary cicatricial pathology
Burns (treatment of the acute phase and of the cicatricial results)
Congenital malformations of limbs
Mastectomy results (mammary reconstructions with autologous and allo-plastic technique)
Gigantomastie
Gynecomastie
Microsurgical post-traumatic and post-oncologic recostructions of superior limbs, inferior limbs, trunk, head and neck.
Paralysis of facial nerve
Pressure Sores (medical and surgical treatment)
Cutaneous arterial, venous and diabetic ulcers
Obesity (liposuction, dermolipectomia)
Research Activity
Anatomical dissections on corpses for the identification of new microsurgical reconstructive units
Tissue microdialysis for the clinical monitoring of microsurgical and peduncles transplants in the reconstruction of the inferior limbs
