The Residency Program in Forensic Medicine was established at the University of Insubria in 1997 and modeled after the Program at the University of Pavia.
The program provides the opportunity to gain a well-rounded education and practical training in fundamentals of forensic pathology, toxicology, criminology, bioethics and deontology. During a four-year period, the residents will explore the subspecialties of Legal Medicine (thanatology, forensic pathology, forensic histopathology, orensic psychopathology, autopsy techniques, healthcare system, risk management, insurance medicine, ethics consultation, social medicine) through a system of categorical rotations. Research, both clinical and laboratory, is expected and encouraged.
