The goal of the three-year Ph.D. program in Chemical Sciences is to train highly qualified researchers in the field of Chemistry. The aim is the acquisition of the theoretical and methodological instruments of complex molecular systems and molecular structures.
In addition to performing research, students also participate in a variety of other activities designed to enhance their personal and professional skills. They are expected to attend lectures by visiting speakers. All students can also spend some time assisting in undergraduate laboratories or teaching undergraduates in tutorials. As well as providing some extra income, these duties provide stimulating teaching experience. Communications skills are honed by presenting seminars in their own research and in subjects of their choice. Students may specialize in analytical, inorganic, organic, physical chemistry, or nanotechnology and materials.
There are numerous international collaborations, and Ph.D. students are invited to spend up to a year in foreign universities. The Ph.D. program is open to graduates in different disciplines (Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Environmental Sciences).
