Anatomic Pathology
School of Medicine

The University of Insubria offers a fully approved five-year integrated residency program in anatomic pathology at the University Medical Center of Varese.

The program is designed to give residents learning opportunities in a large university tertiary care center, the “Ospedale di Circolo” of Varese. This provides the broad range of experiences that residents need to complete their formal education and finalize their career goals.

The program includes rigorous and pragmatic training in all of the standard areas of anatomic pathology. In-depth training is available in most subspecialities including hematopathology, cytopathology and FNA, neuropathology, molecular genetics and nephropathology, among many others. The program provides a core of required rotations and ample time for elective subspeciality training. Excellent opportunities for investigative work at clinical applied, and basic levels are also available.
