This is a two-year graduate course (120 ECTS) in Mathematics.
The program goal is to give students a deeper knowledge of concepts and techniques in modern mathematics, to train them to apply their mathematical skills in both theoretical and applied contexts, and to open the way to possible further studies and a career in academia and research.
The first year contains a core of subjects both from pure and applied mathematics, with special emphasis on numerical analysis, mathematical physics, dynamical systems and mathematical modeling.
In the second year students may choose from a variety of courses in their area of specialization.
A substantial amount of time is devoted to the preparation of a dissertation, which may be based on original research topics.
Students also have the opportunity to spend one or two semesters abroad, and to engage in practical training periods in industry or research institutions.
