This two-year degree (120 ECTS) in Biology is a completion of the basic course in Biology and provides a deeper and broader perspective.  

The curriculum consists of three parts:

1. Cellular and Molecular Biology, where the student becomes familiar with the most relevant aspects of genetics, biochemistry, developmental biology and physiology. The aim is to provide a coherent understanding of the basic molecular mechanisms underlying the relevant biological processes.
   
2. General/Evolutionary Biology which is devoted to the study of basic biological  processes and phenomena from an evolutionary perspective.
   
3. Environmental Pollution / Ecotoxicology which deals with problems related to the risk to living organisms and the environment from the anthropogenic use and pollution of chemicals.

Students will have job opportunities within academic institutions and/or in private companies both at the national and international level where he/she will be involved in basic biological research.
